FAQ: Questions & Answers

Q:

Does the camp offer peanut-free environment? peanut-free

A:

The camp policy is that campers are allowed to bring snacks that are peanut-free. All the meals prepared at the camp are peanut-free products. Given that the camp is taking place in nature, allergens that are air-sborn are outside of our control. Our staff is dedicated to maintain a safe environment for the all the campers.

Q:

What is the ratio of staff to campers?

A:

The camp policy is that we have at least seven to one ratio of staff to campers, in order to ensure that all activities are taking place with adequate supervision and interaction. In the event that more staff, volunteers and junior leaders are on site, then we form smaller age-appropriate groups.
   

Q:

Are boys and girls sharing the same tent space?

A:

No. Boys and girls have separate tents, and are supervised by staff members at all times.
   

Q:

How could I see what my child is doing at the camp?

A:

Parents are welcome to camp at the campsite, separately from our group, and are welcome to observe from the distance without participating or interupting the on-going activities, in order to ensure that the full impact of the curriculum is attained.
   

Q:

In case of an emergency, is your staff qualified to take proper action?

A:

In case of emergency, our staff is qualified to respond and provide first aid, CPR, or to administer EpiPen, regardless if the activities take place at the camp site, on the beach or hiking on nearby trails. 911 will be also be called to further assess the situation, should the need arises. Qualifications, certification and training include the following areas:

» EMT | Emergency Medical Technician
» Wilderness First Aid
» Forest Ranger

   

Q:

Aside from basic essentials, what should my child bring to the camp?

A:

Please print the Packing List and help your camper pack every single item listed! Your camper can check off the item once accounted for.
